This course focuses on the finance with an emphasis on the basic concepts in managerial finance. It begins with the introduction of managerial finance, financial markets and financial instruments. The course also introduces the components of the financial statements and cash flows, the analytical tools in evaluating a firm’s financial performance and the concept of time value of money. It also introduces the basic concepts of risk and return and the capital budgeting techniques. The course concluded with the discussion on cost of capital required to ensure profitability of the firm.
