Facebook is Useful for Entrepreneurs

FACEBOOK IS USEFUL FOR ENTREPRENEURS

Mark Zuckerberg, his roommate, and computer science coursemates Andrew McCollum, Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes are the founders of Facebook. The name Facebook comes from the face book directory that is often given to American university students. Facebook is a social media that has been gaining popularity since 2004. Facebook has expanded to include anyone 13 years of age and older and people with email are also welcome to access this Facebook. Today, the site has more than 400 million active users worldwide. Facebook can be accessed through computers, mobile phones, and any gadget that can access the internet. This web application can create profiles, post text, photos and share multimedia with any other user who has agreed to be their “friend” or, with different privacy settings, publicly. For more information, Facebook is also a good social media for business. Through this social media as well, individuals with the title of an entrepreneur can also make a “live” and can also market products and services.

Facebook is actually a quite common social media platform used by business owners if their target market is elderly people because Facebook is still famous among older people. Therefore, we think that Facebook will be able to help entrepreneurs with their day-to-day operation by selling and promoting on this platform. Not only are business owners able to promote their business on Facebook but they can also sell their products at the same time. Moreover, Facebook has a feature on the page which is a marketplace.  Firstly, entrepreneurs can increase their sales by posting on Facebook about their products just like how entrepreneurs would do on other social media platforms. The purpose of the post is for entrepreneurs to increase the viewers knowledge about their product. Online acknowledgement is very important for entrepreneurs to make sure their product is known because nowadays it is all about our reputation on social media.

 If the business’s reputation is bad on the internet, it might affect the business itself because words spread like a wind on social media. With a bad reputation a business might not be able to gain customers or in other cases the business would gain more popularity. It really depends on how the users are taking in the news. Next, entrepreneurs can use Facebook to support their day-to-day operations by using the feature in Facebook which is the “marketplace”. I believe it is not that known in Malaysia yet during its released. But I suggest that entrepreneurs need to step up their game and use this feature more. It works almost the same as tiktok shop but to buy from marketplace you still need to chat with the seller. You need to choose the desired product and chat with the seller to buy from “marketplace”. It will show the price along with the description of the product when you click on it. It is easier for users to know about the details of a product along with the price and color.

All applications have their advantages and disadvantages, so the advantage we see in this Facebook app to entrepreneurs to grow their business is brand awareness. Brand awareness here refers to Facebook’s widespread platform where Facebook users span the world. As such, entrepreneurs are able to expand their business and be able to expose potential customers about our products beyond the business network. The advantage we see in entrepreneurs is generating business leads which are individuals who like anything they like about a business activity that leads to a positive impact. A positive sign when someone likes posting the entrepreneurs is most likely to acquire new customers. Moreover, the advantage of this Facebook on business is customer feedback service. Through the feedback posted on the comments on the merits of our product will be made a good feedback and will be used by potential customers. We as customers before buying will indeed see feedback from customers who have purchased in the comments section on the beneficial effects obtained after using the product. 

Next, the disadvantage of using Facebook for entrepreneurs is the lack of control. This is due to the boundless commentary space and they want to bring down the image of our business. Many potential customers will be consumed by such negative comments and the business will decline and no sales will be made. The next cons of using Facebook for buying and selling are fake profiles. In  this era, there will undoubtedly be many fake profiles for the purpose of deceiving the public and wanting to drop a product for their own pleasure. These entrepreneurs find it difficult to grow their business on Facebook because of the difficulty of gaining customers and customers also find it hard to trust sellers who don’t face it. Lastly, the disadvantages of entrepreneurs using Facebook for business purposes are advertising payable. Facebook pages are free but Facebook advertising must be bought. For a small entrepreneur it is necessary to pay for advertising only to raise his business and this is not fair and has difficulty paying for the advertising set by Facebook joints.

My opinion in this web application is that it is a good opportunity for entrepreneurs to grab to extend their business over the internet. Entrepreneurs should not only focus on youngsters’ social media because elderly have more money than youngsters. Also elderly these days also enjoy buying viral things therefore Facebook is the perfect place to extend your business to be known widely. I also think that entrepreneurs should explain to users who do not know how to purchase on their page. This is because some of the users might want to buy the product but are not able to because they do not know how to. So entrepreneurs not only should market their product but also help users to be able to buy their products. Lastly, in my opinion Facebook is a web application that can actually help support entrepreneurs in their day-to-day operations.
