How Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality Improve Business Life??

What is Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality? First of all, let me introduce and explain about Augmented Reality or better known as AR. Augmented Reality technology was invented in 1968, with Ivan Sutherland’s development of the first headmounted display system. In definition, Augmented Reality is a type of technology that allows digital images and information to be displayed on a physical environment. It is an interactive experience with an enhanced version of the real physical world and computergenerated content that achieved through the use of elements with multiple sensory modalities including digital visual, auditory or sound, haptic, somatosensory and olfactory and various other sensory stimuli. Augmented Reality adds digital elements to the camera in smartphone or smart glasses by creating the illusion that holographic content is a part of a physical world. It uses existing reality and physical objects to trigger computergenerated enhancements over the top of reality.

Fundamentally, AR is a technology that lays computergenerated images over a user’s view of the real world. These images typically take shape as 3D models, videos and information. It also known as a software application. Augmented Reality biggest advantages is it creates unique digital experiences that blend the best of digital and physical worlds. Not only that, it does not need any special hardware or software to savour the experience. Mainstream smartphones and mobile apps are sufficient to experience Augmented Reality. In addition, AR incorporates three features. It is a combination of digital and physical worlds, interactions made in real time and accurate 3D identification of virtual and real objects. As a result, AR now is a growing trend among companies involved in mobile computing and business applications. AR can be useful for retailers and other companies to promote products or services, launch novel marketing campaigns, and collect unique user data.

On the other hand, VR or Virtual Reality is a computergenerated environment with scenes and objects that appear to be real, it making the user feel they are immersed in their surroundings. It is a simulated experience that can be similar or completely different from the real world. In 1968 Ivan Sutherland and his student Bob Sproull created the first VR head mounted display that was connected to a computer and not a camera. VR was first used in the mid1980s when Jaron Lanier, founder of VPL Research began to develop the gear including goggles and gloves, needed to experience what he called Virtual Reality. Virtual Reality was invented for military purposes and consisted of a head mount, video screen and tracking system linked to cameras. The key development in this instance was that users could now move their head to trigger an adjusted view of the scene. Not only that, VR provide human beings with a virtual environment where human able to interact with a computer just as in the real world. As example talking with a virtual human in a spoken language, writing a letter, or drawing a picture. This environment is perceived through a device known as a Virtual Reality headset or helmet. Modern virtual reality headset displays are based on technology developed for smartphones including gyroscopes and motion sensors for tracking head, body, and hand positions, small HD screens for stereoscopic displays are small, lightweight and fast computer processors.

In conclusion AR and VR have both been explored by humans so that AR and VR give entrepreneurs the opportunity to make their business more advanced along with the passage of time that now uses technology that is constantly being improved. Technology has been improved and is constantly being improved with the aim of simplifying the way people live today. 

VR provide human beings with a virtual environment where human able to interact with a computer just as in the real world.

Moreover, nowadays the progress of a country is measured by the level of technology in that country. After all the explanation above finally we will observe, explore and study how AR and VR open up opportunities and changes the entrepreneur in creating new life and improvise their business for the new market. Since Covid-19 hit the world, various changes have been created and highlighted by humans, technology in particular. Similarly, the country of Malaysia has been greatly affected by the events that have taken place since Covid-19 hit. It is the priority of a country that does not want the country’s economy to fall and go backwards because of this epidemic which has now claimed the lives of millions of people.

Not only that, the effect has reduced and limited human social activities for the past 4 years. For Malaysia, whatever obstacles beset this sovereign country must be overcome and dealt with as best as possible to ensure that the country’s economy runs and is stable as usual and will even be improved. Therefor it has become the new norm and the people are now increasingly accepting the fate that this epidemic is difficult to eradicate. As a result, various technologies have been uploaded and improved in order to achieve the goal of breaking the chain of Covid19 and at the same time not wanting social activities to be interrupted in order to maintain good relationships between people as well as not wanting social relations and community life to be interrupted and extinct following the spread of this epidemic. The same goes for social activities in business life. For example, shopping for clothes, accessories, food, electronic equipment, kitchen equipment, other facilities and many more. Not only that, there are even groceries sold online With the age of the world becoming more sophisticated, Virtual Reality or known as VR applications seem to be moving towards more realistic for business use. It offers every business the opportunity to rethink the way they communicate and interact with their customers as long as they are in the business industry. It can also play a role as a marketing and customer service tool, VR opens up new opportunities and methods to showcase products and services. Furthermore, it is likely to be a unique source of useful information for studying customer behaviour.

The purpose is to study ways and methods or approaches that are more effective to attract customers interest in the business being conducted at the same time businesses can improve their business strategy in the future. Instead of visiting a physical showroom, customers living an increasingly digital life will simply put on a headset that will be displayed in virtual form. Once the customer is in the store via a virtual VR application, the customer can interact with a sales assistant who is a virtual representation of a real human being or more likely over time, an AI which is artificial intelligence or in simple word is a robot that operates to serve the customer operated and controlled by a human. If a customer wants to see a new car, furniture or kitchen appliance before buying it, VR will allow them to do so without having to go to the store. It offers a convenient alternative for customers. For example, Ikea already offers a virtual showroom and many other retailers will likely follow suit. VR fits with the new norm that encourages people to do less face-to-face social interaction. This can also reduce physical contact which is a major cause of the spread of the Covid epidemic cannot be decided. The same goes for Augmented Reality or also known as AR. There are several ways businesses today approach using AR in their business lives. Foremost in retail activity. Retailers are prioritizing the customer experience with improvements through digital methods. Through an initiative created that allows the existence of interaction between digital shopping activities and physical shopping activities.

AR also provides benefits and advantages to companies in training and improving the quality of their employees.

This Augmented Reality gives merchants an opportunity and allows businesses to bridge the gap and introduce new and improved ways to make it easier for customers to shop. In action of innovation by introducing AR in digital clothing and fashion stores that allows users to view clothing items such as dresses, shirts, pants and shoes in 3D format. As example, Lacoste, a sportswear company, offers an app that allows in-store shoppers to place their foot at a specific point to view the shoe of their choice via their smartphone, displaying product details, custom sizes and how it looked on customer. Second of all, AR will definitely open up a big opportunity to design and creative company. In description, industries in the design and creative space will also be part of the market most positively impacted by the introduction of augmented reality. AR companies like Augment are already using the technology to help businesses. Developing apps that give companies the ability to deploy 3D models into physical spaces will enable and at the same time facilitate them to perform stronger sales and marketing activities. As  example, manufacturing company could introduce AR for its product designers, who will be able to quickly iterate on designs and model them in a 3D space. Not only that, AR also provides benefits and advantages to companies in training and improving the quality of their employees.

 

How do companies train staff efficiently and use the same training at every location, especially in large franchise businesses like KFC, McDonald’s and Starbucks? What about complex applications, such as in the medical field? because of difficulties faced by most company, AR allows companies to develop consistent training for each employee and allows employees to develop competence and confidence in playing their role as company employees. For example,company could develop an AR application to onboard employees  by training them quickly with minimal risk to the employee or to workplace operations. To sum up, a business or company that needs practical skills especially, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality can help with better safety and fewer mistakes. These two technologies will allow dealers to develop a consistent training program for each employee. As a result, they can gain confidence and competence in their profession. Not only that, a business can also increase sales and earn more profit by using these improved AR and VR facilities. This is because AR and VR not only facilitate and make the development of internal resource of the company easier, but it also makes it easier for customers to do buying and selling activities, whether buying products or using the services of a business.
